We are seeking male and female readers (variety of ages) for a staged reading of William Shakespeare's King Henry VI.
 
 
Shakespeare-a-Thon: a two-night William Shakespeare Birthday festival with Shakespeare In the Parking Lot Theatre Company @ Speakeasy Arts Cooperative. 
 
Tacoma, WA (SITPL) In the midst of Tacoma's theatre and antiques district, the nationally recognized Shakespeare In the Parking Lot Theatre Company will present a marathon  of readings and performances of the History Cycles.
 
Friday April 23rd and Saturday April 25 at the Speakeasy Arts Cooperative, 746 Broadway, Tacoma,WA 98402
 
 Shakespeare In the Parking Lot Theatre Company's out of the box "taking the fear out of Shakespeare" 8-play History Cycle is a unique opportunity to see all of these rarely-produced plays in a marathon of just 2 days and nights. 
 
 Come join us in our Shakespeare-a-Thon, as more than 50 actors and Shakespeare enthusists recreate these epic plays - in "Shakespeare Unplugged" Staged Readings and Performances. Raise a glass to three King Henry's and two King Richards (including the devilish Richard 3!) plus scores of conniving characters, dozens of dastardly deeds, numerous bloody battles and beheadings, in the story of 100 years of English history when two ambitious families fought over the crown and laid the groundwork for ideas we still live by today.
 
A community staged reading of King VI will take place on Saturday, April 24th at 3pm.
 
The final show of the series, Richard the Third, will be presented free beginning at 11 am pm on Saturday, April 25th. 
 
Along  with the play productions, Speakeasy Arts Cooperative will be filled with festival events: hands-on demonstrations of Renaissance costuming, swordfighting, art, music, dance, insults; plus costumed characters, tarot readings, and more!  Works from local artisans, drink specials and delicious Elizabethan food will be offered  throughout both evenings. Come join the William Shakespeare Birthday party event of the season!
